Six-thirty is too early to start school

School is something that does not bother me too much. You go and see your friends and do some work and then come home. However, waking up to go to school is just dreadful for me and many others as well.

I do love to get as much sleep as possible, but I am not a morning person and hate waking up so early to go to school. Sometimes I can’t even rise out of bed when I hear my alarm I’m so tired.

Schools should change the time you come into school because I hate waking up so early in the morning. Waking up so early in the morning makes it impossible to eat some breakfast before leaving for school. I prefer staying up late and being able to go to school the next day without being extremely tired. It makes it hard to wake up and catch the bus so early. Then I’m very tired when I get to school. It is hard to concentrate and do well if all you are thinking of is closing your eyes. Wouldn’t you think kids might do better in class if they’re actually awake?

After I get home from school, I am so tired, I could pass out. I can barely move and feel like sleeping instead of doing homework and projects. If school hours were at least one hour later, it actually would not bother me. Going to school at around eight and getting home around four would be a lot better than waking up so early.

I never understood the reason behind waking up early other than to come home early. I think it’s pointless to make us start so early that the sun has not even risen.  I nearly missed the bus a few times due to waking up later than usual. School either needs to be shortened or be pushed back.  If not, I sure hope there are some snow days this year.
