The top three streaming services available in the U.S.

Certain streaming services may be better than others. Whether it be in terms of price, ease of access, or even just the quantity of shows and movies to pick from, there will always be a streaming service better for someone.
One of the better streaming services to pick from would be Netflix. Netflix was first introduced in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Mark Randolph and started as a mail-in service for DVDs and Blu-ray discs where you could either rent or buy a movie of your choice and have it sent to your home for a monthly subscription. Netflix costs $8.99 a month for a basic membership or $17.99 a month if you want a premium account for usage, which is about average for a streaming service and is well within most peoples’ budget. Eventually, Netflix was forced to move along with the times and evolve into what we all know today as a streaming service in which you pay for a monthly subscription to stream movies and TV shows of your choice with unlimited access. According to Statista, Netflix currently has 206 million active subscribers.
Some people might want different genres to pick from such as documentaries, action movies/shows, or might even want something you can’t find anywhere else which is introduced by “Netflix Originals” which can only be found on Netflix and contains shows and movies made by the company itself. Accessibility is an important factor when choosing a streaming service. Some people may not enjoy a service if it does not feel easy to navigate or does not work well on their device. Netflix solves this problem by fitting its service to all television sets and mobile devices, including laptops and even gaming consoles.
If you want some more options, you can try the streaming service known as Amazon Prime Video. Originally introduced in 2006 as Amazon Unbox, the service was renamed Amazon Prime Video in 2008 and was a fairly unknown service until recent years. To access Prime Video, you must be a member of Amazon Prime, which is Amazon’s premium shipping service, and the service is available to all current members free of charge. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, the cost is $12.99 a month, or $119 annually (plus taxes), which puts it ahead in price compared to Netflix’s standard membership, but you also get Amazon Prime which gives you faster shipping on all items purchased with Amazon. Amazon currently has 147 million active Amazon Prime members.
Prime Video is available on televisions, gaming consoles, and even most mobile devices similar to Netflix which makes it very convenient for usage away from home. Overall, it is a decent streaming service that offers more benefits than just movies to its members.
If Netflix or Prime don’t quite interest you, try Xfinity’s streaming service, known as Peacock, which is a recent streaming service created by Xfinity which carries many popular TV shows such as Parks and Recreation, The Office, and many more all to pick from. To show just how new this service is compared to the others, a small 11.6 million people use it regularly which is just a fraction of the others. Currently, if you are a current customer of Xfinity (Cable, security, WI-FI), you can access Peacock Premium for free of charge, similar to Amazon. It is easy to access, and it works out well if you don’t enjoy ads because they generally will leave your show untouched with maybe a small ad here and there which leaves you time to use the restroom, grab a snack, or just hang out. Peacock has left some people generally upset, as it has taken shows from other streaming platforms, but it is not extremely expensive and is easily accessible.
In my opinion, Netflix is the best streaming service to pick from this list. Between their wide variety of shows to pick from along with documentaries which I personally enjoy. There is always something that everyone can enjoy. Everyone wants to ensure they are getting the highest quality streaming service possible and it can be difficult to find these. Whether you are bored at home, on the road, or even just want something to watch, the picks on this list are highly recommended, and I strongly advise anyone new to streaming to check them out for themselves.
