Is Michael Vick an All-Star candidate?

Is Michael Vick an All-Star candidate? Why not? He is probably one of the best quarterback’s in the whole NFL today. He’s thrown thirteen touchdowns and only one interception, occurring in week twelve in a disappointing loss to the Bears. He has also thrown 1941 yards in eleven weeks of play. He has the number one QB rating at 106.0.

This All-Star quarterback was sitting at home waiting for calls from NFL teams, just two years ago, after getting out from a two-year jail sentence for dog fighting. The Philadelphia Eagles took a chance on him, and while at that time it stroke fear in the eyes of Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb, it was the best for the team. Vick is currently one of the best in the NFL, and while Kolb is an okay backup, he wants to start.

Michael Vick should definitely be signed to a contract extension by the end of the year by the Philadelphia Eagles, in respect that they did take a chance on him and he seems to want to stay here.

We want to lock him up for the next few years within our franchise, but will he improve, stay the same or lose his skill. He only has one rushing TD less than the starting running back for the Eagles Lesean McCoy! With his new surroundings of greater wide receivers such as Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson, he has a much better chance to succeed in Philly than in any other city.

He has made a miraculous comeback into the NFL, against all odds. He had taken the game for granted, but now he is a household name once again, along with being a game great.

His passing completion is at an all time high, with his touchdowns likely to be among his career high. When playing a full year of football, he might also get a career low for interceptions. He proves to be better than Kevin Kolb, the current backup quarterback.

In a press conference in January, Vick commented on the facts if he wanted the Eagles to pick up his club option. “I know I can still play at a high level,” he said on

He thinks he still has some good football left in him as well.”I hope so…I feel like I’m probably better than I ever was in my career, as far as the mental aspect of the game,” he said on

Lastly, he has made many great plays and games on his feet. After a game on November 10th, the Pro Football Hall of Fame asked for his jersey after becoming the first quarterback to throw for three TD’s and rush for two TD’s in the first half of a game. They would win the game 59-28.  He clearly has a lot of good football left in him.
